Professional achievements: Probably the greatest professional achievement was rejuvenating a failing division that had previously declined 25% year over year to achieve 15% CAGR over 7 years.

Other major accomplishments:

  • Successfully mentored 6 management candidates to pass a management review board that had a 50% fail rate
  • Played a role in two successful startup business ventures within large companies. Designed and developed an early incident management system for one of those companies in the late 80s.
  • Was on a corporate launch team that created new branded productized service offerings like “Service in a Box“ and “LAN in a Can” that became products on CompUSA store shelves in the mid-90s
  • Planned, implemented, and executed many different complex service solutions over several decades
  • Was among the first 113 people worldwide to achieve PgMP credential from the Project Management Institute
  • Along with my wife survived the raising of two daughters that were very popular growing up

What does SeKON mean to you? SeKON represents to me the ideal company where the owner and leadership team are very talented and have remained true to the values and tenets that the company was founded on. I am honored to serve in a company that is run by such high moral standards.

How do you think your colleagues would describe you? On the positive side, some might describe me as a methodical, objective, and positive leader who finds success through inspiring the team to do their best. They may also see me as a team player, willing to go beyond my job to help others and one who communicates without hidden agendas. On the other side, I might be described as someone that’s a little disorganized at times and maybe overcommitted and thus challenged to meet all simultaneous demands.

Fun fact: Annie McKinney Musick & David Musick, (my 5th great grandparents) and their family were attacked by Indians in 1792 in south western Virginia. While David was killed in the attack, Annie escaped with the children and later married Ephraim Hatfield, (the patriarch of the Hatfield family made famous by the feud between the Hatfields and McCoys). Don’t worry, I didn’t inherit the begrudging traits from Annie’s 2nd husband

Professional achivements: Moved seamlessly from a career in architecture to a career in information technology. My team and I built a marketing analytics system for a major pharmaceutical company from bare server room walls to a complete application, loaded database and daily transformation processes in under 4 months. And we all survived to tell the tale.

What does SeKON mean to you? SeKON is like home. I worked with several SeKON employees before they and I came to SeKON. We have a common bond and a common approach to delivering excellent service to our customers.

What does SeKON mean to you? An opportunity to be Lead Engineer and Project Manager for the JOMIS Engineering, Cyber Security and Configuration Management (ECCM) contract. Responsible for managing over 40 employees (to include Deloitte resources and other subs), all working cohesively to meet existing and emerging Operational Medicine (OM) mobility requirements in Theater at all Levels of Care (i.e. on the battle field, at forward resuscitative sites, in hospitals, aboard ships, and in submarines); for all DoD frontline service members. JOMIS will fully leverage MHS GENESIS as the core electronic health record (EHR) system of record for accessing, capturing, and documenting medical and dental care for soldiers.

How do you think your colleagues would describe you? Well-versed at understanding and effectively managing people, product catalogs, and vendors. A technology savvy subject matter expert, able to establish key relationships that drive business and technology initiatives.
