Strategic Web Design

SeKON / Services / Strategic Web Design

SeKON, uses a data-driven website design process in which the structure, layout, content and functionality of a website is considered, based on actual usage and site analytics.

The analytics guide SeKON to design and update functionality of a site, and to ensure the site works effectively and efficiently for its visitors. SeKON utilizes website analytics to determine the site’s overall traffic and visitor count. The analytics include many valuable metrics including popular landing pages, top ranking pages, and visits from paid search and online advertising — data that is crucial for determining a site’s success and for planning a website redesign.

Methods

SeKON routinely uses site analytics to aid in assessing usability and to evaluate impact of new site designs. SeKON uses Google Analytics and Data Studio to provide weekly and monthly high-level, dashboard-type data as well as an interpretation narrative of the results. As part of the narrative, actions are suggested to help improve metrics against site goals. With analytics analysis SeKON can identify poorly performing pages with techniques such as funnel visualization, where visitors came from (referrers), how long they stayed on the website and their geographical position. SeKON recently redesigned the SAMHSA Resource Library lookup page and integrated http://search.gov as the sites top level search engine. With the aid of the GA data, using before change and after change trend analysis the SeKON team was able to evaluate the impacts of these changes and to continually improve the SAMHSA site.
